I'm Michaella, owner, designer, creator and decorator behind Florella. Ever since I was little, I have always loved being in the kitchen. I can remember standing on a chair mixing some sort of exciting new recipe together, and feeling like there was nowhere else I’d rather be. My Italian mother always inspired a love of good food and I was lucky enough to grow up in a home where we were encouraged to be creative. My baking journey started with pancakes and peanut butter cookies and as I got older and more adventurous I tried more challenging bakes.

After graduating from university, I decided to spend some time back in my happy place -the kitchen. I worked as a freelance food photographer for a few international brands and this nurtured my passion for creating (and photographing) pretty and delicious eats. I have learned so much over the last few years and have refined my baking techniques to be able to offer custom cakes and desserts for any occasion.

Being self-taught, I've spent years honing my skills by studying, researching, recipe testing and freelancing. During this time, I have developed my own unique style for cakes and desserts - each creation different to the last and completely tailored to every client's wishes and vision.

I take pride in each and every thing I create. I can't help but agonise over every last detail - pouring an immense amount of time, love, effort and thought into my work until it is perfect.
